This is delicious with cheese. I especially like it in a toasted cheese sandwich 😉
450g cooking apples
75g dates, chopped
200ml cider vinegar
75g dark brown soft sugar
Place the apples, peeled, cored and roughly chopped, in a pan with the dates, cloves, cider vinegar and sugar.
Bring to the boil, then reduce the heat and simmer for about 25 minutes until the apples are soft and the liquid has almost completely reduced.
